Cereal for Sam and Outside

Sam has been busy lately doing lots of new things! He rolled over by himself for the first time on April 14th. He tried cereal for the first time on Tuesday (the 24th), and he has been going in his jumper thing lately.

Also, we have a "new" stroller that fits both me and Sam. I get to stand up or sit down, and I can turn around and talk to Sam too. Sam hasn't made a peep in it yet so I think he approves.

We went on a walk the other night, and Mommy showed me how if I put my hood up on my jacket, I could hide the sword that was down the back of my shirt. We walked to the grocery store, and I had to tell anyone who talked to us that I had a sword that they couldn't see. Mommy was glad I was into swords and not guns because that might have been a trickier conversation!

The pictures got a little out of order, but here is Sam trying cereal. He was NOT happy in his high chair (even though he sits in it every night when we eat supper), but he did much better on Mommy's lap. The second night, he sat in his high chair and did really well. Mommy couldn't feed him fast enough, and he thinks the spoon is awesome.

Here's Sam in his jumpy thing. He likes it for the most part. The first time we put him in, he went after the little frog like I did when I was little. Not sure what it is about that frog!

Happy Easter!

I had fun this Easter. I got to do 3 Easter egg hunts (Copps, Monroe Park and Rec and Church). I didn't like the Easter Bunny and had a bit of a meltdown at the Monroe Easter egg hunt, but otherwise I did well.

Here I am at the Copps Easter Egg Hunt...

My typical smiley face...
Finally a good smile from me! Sam looks a little perplexed.

An attempt at a picture with Uncle Jay and Aunt Amanda. Where is Sam going??!

Looking for my baskets at Grandma and Grandpa Hyland's house. I would not let the Easter Bunny come to my house!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

Easter Preview

Sam and I have been getting ready for Easter over the past week. Luckily, Mommy tried on Sam's outfit before Easter and found that because he has no neck, the top button would barely button, and when it did, we had one MAD baby (hard to believe from the pictures, I know).

Here is Sam in the outfit minus the tie. Mommy returned it and got something more comfortable for him. We would have been so cute in our matching outfits though!

I colored Easter eggs and had a blast! I used the magic crayon to draw on them beforehand and then put them in the dye by myself. I had to have a bath right after because my hands were nice shades of blue and pink :)

After my bath, I wanted to hold Sam (who happened to be in his diaper at the time). Mommy took some pictures. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to smile naturally for pictures. i have to open my mouth, make a pout or squint my whole face. Mommy didn't think the 5 month old would be easier to photograph!
Mommy tried my outfit on me too to make sure that it fit and then decided to take some pictures since who knows if we'll be able to get any on Easter.
Don't I look handsome?
Here I am with Sam in his new, more comfortable outfit...

Happy baby!
I had to do a silly one too!
Have a great Easter everyone! I am off to a couple of Easter egg hunts today. Hopefully the Easter Bunny stays far away, and I will have a good time. If the Easter Bunny is close, look out!

Home and the Park

Sam and I have been pretty busy playing at home and also outside (more last week than this week though).

Here is Sam doing some tummy time. Mommy made me put up the picture with the frog on his behind!

Happy Sam!
Another happy Sam...and no, he isn't smiling because I am at school when this was taken :)
Sam and Daddy sleeping on the couch...
At the park for the first official visit this year! Sam liked it but ended up falling asleep (as usual).
Can you see me?
I went on the big swings this year. I did really well!
Taking a nature walk with Daddy...

Have a great weekend everyone!

What I've Been Up To!

I've been keeping busy lately and enjoying this beautiful weather!

Here I am in my cowboy hat and boots that Grandma and Grandpa Hyland brought me from San Antonio.

Funny look at Sam...
Pirate fighting with Uncle Jay and Aunt Amanda. It doesn't get better than pirate fights for me!

Happy St Patrick's Day. You can't see Sam's bib very well, but he was celebrating!
I got to go to the library in Monroe to make some crafts and listen to a story.
My shamrock crown...
We went to a mexican restaurant then to eat lunch and hear a mariachi band. I listened to the mariachi band more than I ate...
Sam wore a hat to block out some of the noise since it was kind of loud, but he still slept through it all!
Later in the afternoon, we got to watch a parade! I was very nervous about the leprechaun so I had to stand between the stroller and the wall and have Grandma, Grandpa and Mommy stand on both sides so it couldn't get me.
While I was enjoying the weekend, Daddy and Grandpa Rikli were up in the UP hunting. They got some pigs!
Sam had to dress as a pirate, and as usual he was very surprised!
Have a great week!

Sunday, March 4, 2012

I have a lot of pictures to post this week. Mommy dressed Sam up both days this weekend because he is so happy when he first wakes up in the morning. I, on the other hand, need time to wake up, which is why I am in my jammies in all of them.
Sam, the Badger fan...

Cute little boy in his matching outfit with hat and socks...
RRR, I've got a surprised prisoner!
You can't get away from me, Sam!

When I go to Grandma and Grandpa Hyland's, I now play with Mommy's old Sylvanian figures and Uncle Jay's He-Man figures. I have a blast with them!
I helped set the table last weekend...
Here is the finished product. It doesn't look quite like it does when others do it, but I'll keep trying!
Watching a cowboy show with Grandpa. I had to have my own gun, hat and holster of course!
The last attempt with the Big Brother/Little Brother shirts because Sam has outgrown his now!
One day Sam started crying from his nap right when Mommy was getting supper out of the oven. I told her I would go check on him, and this is what Mommy found when she came back. I climbed in his crib and got Sam to stop crying by talking to him.

Here is Sam doing some tummy time. He is getting stronger and can hold his head all by himself now. He has an occasional wobble but doesn't need it supported much anymore.
Sam is also starting to hold toys and get them towards his mouth. Let the drooling begin!
